Duras fined
PARIS (AFP) - A Paris court has fined the novelist Marguerite Duras 6,000 francs ( pounds 750) and ordered her to pay 5,000 francs in damages for having insulted the extreme right-wing National Front in a magazine interview, legal sources said. Ms Duras went beyond political criticism and was 'deliberately and repeatedly insulting' in the April 1992 interview with the left-wing weekly Nouvel Observateur, the court ruled.
