In an apparent effort to placate impatient young blacks, Nelson Mandela said the African National Congress would reveal the date of South Africa's first democratic elections in the next week, Reuter reports from Johannesburg. Speaking at rallies in Natal, he also said he wanted the voting age lowered to 14. Negotiators are said to have decided on an election date and are expected to announce it on 2 June.
