Algeria's ruling High State Council has suspended the executions of Muslim fundamentalists convicted of terrorism, AFP reports from Algiers. The independent daily newspaper al-Khabar said the decision took effect from Wednesday. Some 400 death sentences have been handed out in the past 21 months.
