Fire kills 12

Madrid (Reuter) - Twelve people, at least eight of them Polish, died when fire swept through an apartment block in a Madrid suburb yesterday. Three of the victims were children. Five Spaniards and two other Poles were being treated in hospital for smoke inhalation and injuries sustained when they jumped to safety.
