Georgia's former president, Zviad Gamsakhurdia, will be buried in the self-proclaimed Chechen Republic in southern Russia, where he lived in exile after being toppled from power, Reuter reports from Moscow.
The Chechen Foreign Minister, Shamsuddin Yusef, said Gamsakhurdia would be buried there according to his family's wish, and Georgian authorities had given their permission. Gamsakhurdia's wife Manana said her husband had killed himself. But some say he may have died at the hands of his own supporters or even of diabetes.
