PARIS (AFP) - France, home of the coffee-croissant-cigarette breakfast, will have its National Breakfast Day on 20 September in hopes of convincing people that a well-balanced meal is the best way to start the day. Thousands of free breakfasts will be handed out 'so that at least once a year, the French have a proper breakfast and learn the major part this meal plays in a balanced daily diet,' said a spokesman for the Health Education Committee.
