BERLIN (Reuter) - East German political leaders kept at least 450m marks ( pounds 193m) in secret Swiss and Austrian bank accounts, Stern magazine reported.
It quoted the head of a commission investigating the finances of eastern Germany's former ruling Communist Party as saying the commission was trying to access the accounts. It said the PDS, the successor to East Germany's defunct Communist Party, still had millions of marks in foreign accounts.
