Hong Kong talks resume
Marathon talks resumed between China and Britain on Hong Kong's political future, with both sides showing clear signs of exasperation and acknowledging the talks had reached a critical point, AP reports from Peking. The Chinese negotiator, Jiang Enzhu, said that comments by the Governor of Hong Kong, Chris Patten, that time was running out for an agreement were a new obstacle to the talks.
