Hundreds fight forest blaze in Portugal
Hundreds of firefighters were mobilised early yesterday in a bid to bring a forest fire in central Portugal under control.
The fire at Sao Pedro do Sul in the Viseu district, which began last week, has so far injured three people. The civil defence service said that 300 firefighters, 80 vehicles, three waterbombing planes and two helicopters have been deployed to try to put it out.
