Jammu -At least eight people were killed by bombs which exploded during a Republic Day rally in India's Jammu and Kashmir state, police said. Up to 100 others were injured by three blasts which rocked a stadium during a rally in Jammu, domestic news agencies said. Two devices went off next to the podium where the state governor, K V Krishna Rao, who is a retired general, was addressing 15,000 people. He suffered a minor injury.
In Pakistan, at least three died and 15 were wounded by Indian firing across a ceasefire line in the disputed Kashmir region in the past five days, police and witnesses said. Reuter
