Dallas - The first saddled-billed stork born in captivity has died, despite life-saving efforts that included a blood transfusion and careful feedings of smelt fish and mouse parts from a zookeeper holding a puppet that looked like a mother stork.
The 26-day-old stork probably died of septicemia, a blood-borne bacterial infection, Dallas Zoo officials said. AP
