Most people in India's five main cities have scant respect for politicians, think the country needs a dictator and would rather work abroad, according to an opinion poll released yesterday, Reuter reports from New Delhi.

The Marketing and Research Group survey said 58 per cent of those polled thought India needed a dictator if it were to progress.
