An Italian man has been arrested for attempted murder after he allegedly threw a bidet out of his window during a local brawl, hitting a man on the head on the street below and hospitalising him.

Domenico Cammarota, 45, was arrested in Pozzuoli, near Naples, Italy, after police arrived at the scene in time to witness the bidet being thrown into the street, Rai News reports.

The incident occurred after a football game played by local boys in a set of communal gardens was brought to an abrupt end when one player accused another of a bad foul.

Local parents became involved in the dispute when the fathers of the fighting children stepped in to defend their offspring and began to argue themselves, according to the Local.

Police were called to the scene and saw a 48-year-old father hit in the head with the bidet as it flew out of an above window. The man collapsed and was rushed to hospital.

Cammarota was arrested for attempted murder and taken to a prison in Poggioreale.
