Jail for hotel owner

Japan's Supreme Court yesterday upheld a three-year prison sentence for the 80-year-old owner ofa Tokyo hotel which burned in 1982, killing 32 people, AP reports from Tokyo. Presiding Judge Toshijiro Nakajima said the court agreed with lower court decisions that Hideki Yokoi, owner of the Hotel New Japan, was responsible for the deaths because of his failure to instal fire safety devices.
