BRATISLAVA (Reuter) - Thousands of Slovaks handed over gold, jewels and cash to help the new country's ailing economy. A government-supported fund-raising gala at the Slovak National Theatre reported receiving 113 pieces of jewellery and 335,000 crowns ( pounds 7,500) within hours.
