Russian opposition leader and chess grandmaster Garry Kasparov was called for questioning yesterday after a police officer accused him of biting his hand while being arrested.
Mr Kasparov, who denies the claim and plans to file a libel case against his accuser, was detained on Friday while rallying in support of the feminist punk band Pussy Riot outside the Moscow court where members were sentenced to two years in prison.
The 49-year-old said he submitted videos of his arrest that proved his innocence.
