Knox admits to feeling 'scared'
Eight days after Amanda Knox was sentenced to 26 years for the murder of Meredith Kercher, her British roommate, the 22-year-old American has said that she is scared at the prospect of spending her life behind bars.
In an interview with the Associated Press, she said: "I am scared because I don't know what is going on." Sitting in her cell, Knox said she was "feeling horrendous" after being found guilty of murder and sexual assault. "The guards helped me out. They held me all night," she added.
Kercher's body was found with her throat slit on 2 November 2007 in the bedroom of the house she shared with Knox while the two were studying in Perugia, central Italy. Knox's Italian ex-boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, was convicted of the same charges and given a 25-year sentence.
