Amanda Knox is an innocent woman "crucified" in the media, her lawyer told a court in Perugia yesterday. The American student, convicted of murdering her British roommate, will hear the outcome of her appeal on Monday.
Carlo Dalla Vedova told the appeals court that Knox had been the victim of a "tragic judicial case" and has spent more than 1,000 days behind bars as a result. Knox was convicted in 2009 of murdering Meredith Kercher and sentenced to 26 years in prison.
