BONN - The German Chancellor, Helmut Kohl, rebuked his coalition partners, the Free Democrats (FDP), yesterday, for appearing to treat his approval of the proposed new economics minister as a mere formality, writes Steve Crawshaw.
Mr Kohl's irritation arose from the trumpeting by the FDP of its new candidate for the post, Gunter Rexrodt, following the resignation of Jurgen Mollemann after accusations that he had misused his office to promote a company run by his cousin.
