Police went on a fruitless safari in streets and parks of the French capital overnight, hunting for a loose lion that eyewitnesses claimed to have seen near a fairground late on Thursday, AFP reports from Paris. A dozen police vehicles went into action after several people at the Foire du Trone, a popular seasonal Paris fair, said they had seen a lion roaming free behind a merry-go-round.
