BUCHAREST (Reuter) - Former officers of Romania's disbanded Securitate secret police have formed an organisation to fight for 'lost honour' and are ready to 'restore order' in Romania if needed, their leader, Gheorghe Ivascu, said. It is the first time since Stalinist rule collapsed in a bloody revolution in 1989 that disgraced secret policemen have voiced public dissent against the country's fledgling democracy.
