President Kiro Gligorov says compromise over Macedonia's name meant his country could be admitted to the United Nations soon, but Greece must be pressured to accept the deal, AP reports from Skopje.
A key opposition leader, however, said the compromise was an 'insult to the Macedonian people' and threatened to take his nationalist supporters on to the streets.
