The number of Norwegians opposed to joining the European Union has increased even though Oslo secured a membership deal this week, two polls showed yesterday, Reuter reports from Oslo.
A Gallup poll for national NRK television showed opponents swelling to 49 per cent from 42 early this month. A poll by the Opinion institute in the conservative daily Aftenposten, partly taken before the deal in Brussels was complete, showed the 'no' side had edged up to 49 per cent from 48 last month.
