PARIS (Reuter) - Rudolf Nureyev will be buried in Paris next Tuesday after a civil ceremony at the Paris Opera house.
The lavish Opera building in the city centre will be open on Monday for the public to pay their respects to the 54-year- old Russian-born dancer who died on Wednesday after a long battle with Aids.
A large photograph of Nureyev will be displayed in the foyer and well-wishers will be encouraged to write in a register. Tuesday's funeral ceremony, including music and speeches, will be open only to a restricted number of friends and admirers, including the French Culture Minister, Jack Lang. Nureyev will be buried in the Russian cemetery at St Genevieve des Bois.
