A Swiss male nurse has confessed to killing a 27 elderly and sick patients in a nursing home.
Roger Andermatt, 32, was arrested at the end of June after a suspicious death in a nursing home in Sarnen. He subsequently admitted killing nine patients, claiming he did so out of sympathy and to end their suffering.
Fearing that the toll might be higher, police launched a full investigation. Under interrogation, the nurse confessed to a further 18 killings, officials said.
