Italian magistrates freed Carlo De Benedetti, the head of the Olivetti computer firm who is involved in an inquiry into bribes for postal service contracts, from house arrest, Reuter reports from Rome. The examining magistrate ruled there was no longer a risk that Mr De Benedetti might try to flee or interfere with evidence.
