TIRANA (Reuter) - Albania's Orthodox Church inaugurated its first archbishop in 25 years yesterday, but the ceremony was marred by protests at the choice of a Greek national, Archbishop Anastasios Yannoulatos, to head the church.
The ceremony marked an important stage in the church's recovery after its suppression by the Communists, but also fuelled Albanian fears of growing Greek influence.
