New video shows carnage outside Paris attacks bar

Footage has emerged showing the distressing aftermath of a restaurant shooting during the Paris attacks.

Five people were killed and eight seriously injured when a gunman opened fire at the Café Bonne Biere, where dozens of people were enjoying a Friday night drink.

The video starts seconds after the attackers got back in a car and drove on to continue their rampage, leaving the building riddled with bullet holes and the dead and injured lying on the ground.

People can be seen rushing to help the victims as some stunned motorists grind to a halt, while others drive past apparently unaware of the unfolding horror.

“It's carnage”, one person can be heard saying.

One of the survivors, a man called Christian, described how he was with a friend sitting at a window shattered by bullets just seconds before the massacre started.

“After the first drink, we decided to carry on,” he told 20 Minutes. “It was the second drink that saved my life. I got up to pay for the first and order the second…when I started to hear flashes.

“At first we thought it was firecrackers, or children playing, but suddenly I heard a woman’s voice screaming: ‘What are these f*****s doing?’ Then I saw her lying on the ground.”

As well as the high-profile Stade de France and packed Bataclan concert hall, terrorists took deliberate aim at Paris’ celebrated café culture.

At 9.25pm, diners sat outside the Le Carillon and Le Petit Cambodge were sprayed with bullets by gunmen who suddenly pulled up in a car. At least 15 victims died.

Just minutes later, Italian restaurant the Casa Nostra and adjacent bar Cafe Bonne Biere were targeted.

Four minutes after that, 19 people were shot dead at La Belle Equipe before a suicide bomber detonated his vest outside the Comptoir Voltaire.

In its statement claiming responsibility for the massacres, which killed 130 people, Isis called Paris “the capital of prostitution and vice, the lead carrier of the cross in Europe”.
