A French-Syrian couple have issued an amazing statement following the horrific Paris attacks that claimed 129 peoples’ lives.
Hamid Sulaiman and Aurélie Ruby posted a photograph together, taken in front of the Place de la République, each holding their respective passports and brandishing a sign declaring “love will always win.”
Sulaiman, who fled from Syria in 2012, and Ruby, have been together for three years after meeting in a theatre in Paris and both work as artists.
Their Facebook post has been shared more than four thousand times, with other couples inspired to make similar declarations.

“We don’t have to pay for this, because we are on earth as humans to love. Not for anything else,” Ruby told Mic.
The pair were at the cinema on Friday night when a number of gunmen staged multiple attacks across the French capital, resulting in the death of 129 people with hundreds injured.
On their message, Ruby said it was “not about only about us” but for everyone, everyday, who was “paying the price of this fanaticism, terrorism, racism”.
Sulaiman, who described how surreal it had been for him to receive messages from his Syrian friends checking he was fine, said the attackers were “afraid of peace, they are afraid of love.”
