PISA (AP) - Workers will begin placing a 600-ton counterweight next month at the north base of the Tower of Pisa in an effort to keep it from collapsing. The counterweight, comprised of lead ingots, will be a temporary measure that should increase the stability of the monument while more permanent measures are taken.
