New York (Reuter) - A federal judge dismissed several civil cases against the Palestine Liberation Organisation stemming from the 1985 hijacking of the Italian cruise ship Achille Lauro. The judge, Louis Stanton, ruled that his court did not have jurisdiction in the matter. Among the cases dismissed was one filed by the family of Leon Klinghoffer, the elderly, wheelchair-bound man who was shot dead during the hijacking. The PLO denies that it was responsible for the hijacking.
