PM ousted

VILNIUS (Reuter) - The Lithuanian Prime Minister, Gediminas Vagnorius, accused by his opponents of bungling economic reform, was sacked by parliament in a vote of no confidence yesterday.

Mr Vagnorius, a close ally of President Vytautas Landsbergis during the Baltic state's long battle with Moscow for independence, blamed his downfall on former Communists, whom he accused of trying to seize back power in Lithuania.
