Police hunt man who threw dog onto metal fence in Spain
WARNING GRAPHIC CONTENT: The puppy died of its injuries after getting stuck on wiring on top of the fence
Police are on the lookout for a man after he killed a puppy by throwing it over a metal fence of an animal rescue centre in Spain.
CCTV footage shows the man stopping his car near the Asproan centre, near Santander, before chucking the baby Fox Terrier Cross into the enclosure.
On the first attempt at doing so, the puppy can be seen getting caught on spiked wire. As it falls back down, the man hurls it into the air again, then drives away.
The animal died from its injuries and was subsequently found by staff at the rescue centre.
“We need to find the person responsible for this cowardly and miserable act so he feels the full force of the law and everyone knows what a repugnant person he is,” said a spokesperson for Asproan.
“We want to ask for your help in publicising this video so we can track down the savage who did this to a poor little puppy.”
The Spanish Nature Protection Service said it was investigating the incident, which occurred at around 5.40pm on August 8.
