President hit

The German President, Richard von Weizsacker, was punched in the face and fell to the ground outside the Thalia Theatre here, Reuter reports from Hamburg. Mr Weizsacker suffered a cut lip, which was treated at the scene before he went into the theatre to watch a play. The attacker was a Hamburg resident who had waited in a crowd and had spoken to Mr Weizsacker before punching him.
