Vladimir Putin has vowed to cut traffic privileges for officials who bypass Moscow's traffic jams by ignoring basic rules of the road and even driving into oncoming lanes.
The privileges are a strong irritant for Muscovites, who have increasingly expressed their discontent with the Prime Minister's policies and government corruption, endangering his chances of winning a third term as President in elections on 4 March.
