PARIS (Reuter) - Racist violence in France is dropping but racial prejudice, especially against Arabs, is still strong, according to a government report. It said there were 28 racially-motivated attacks on people or property last year, compared with 64 in 1988. An opinion poll said that 40 per cent of French people admitted to some degree of racial prejudice, including 21 per cent who could be described as diehard racists.
