ROME (Reuter) - Police raided an office of the governing Socialist Party, which is at the centre of a bribery and corruption inquiry. Para-military Carabinieri and Finance Ministry police, acting on a warrant signed by Milan magistrates, searched the party treasurer's office. The party's national organiser, Biagio Marzo, said 'the latest events . . . strike at the heart of constitutional guarantees on the freedom of expression'.
