Afghan government jets pounded rebel positions around Kabul yesterday as sporadic fighting continued in the capital for the 14th day, rebel sources in Pakistan said, Reuter reports from Peshawar. The jets attacked positions in Charasyab, 25km (16 miles) south of Kabul, belonging to the Hizbe Islami party of Prime Minister Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, Hizbe sources said.
