Peking (Reuter) - The South Korean President, Roh Tae Woo, arrived in China yesterday on a visit marking the establishment of diplomatic ties last month between the two former ideological enemies.

Xinhua news agency announced Mr Roh's arrival by special plane with a news flash, showing the importance of this visit to China, which has worked hard to forge new diplomatic relations around the world.
