Ségolène Royal, the woman who spent 25 years with François Hollande, has hit back at the President's current partner for snubbing her in a Twitter message.
Responding to Valerie Trierweiler's tweet in support of Ms Royal's opponent in Sunday's parliamentary elections, Ms Royal said: "I don't have the right to let myself be shot down... That does not mean I am not mortified, that I am not hurt."
