BERLIN (AFP) - For the first time in Germany, a Russian officer was jailed for military espionage against West Germany and its Nato allies. Colonel Viktor Sherdoff was sentenced to three years in prison. He was accused of having worked for the GRU, the former Soviet military espionage service, for 11 years.
