The rebel former Russian vice-president, Alexander Rutskoi, in an interview broadcast yesterday, declared himself ready to lead the opposition to President Boris Yeltsin, Reuter reports from Moscow. Mr Rutskoi, interviewed by the independent NTV channel, said he was ready to spearhead opposition parties that did not sign a Yeltsin-backed accord for political reconciliation.
