CAPE CANAVERAL (Reuter) - A European science satellite suffered guidance problems and failed to reach its intended altitude after deployment from the US space shuttle Atlantis yesterday but the European Space Agency said it was not alarmed.
Operators were not certain what had gone wrong but expected to have the remotely- controlled satellite in its proper orbit and some 50 experiments under way within days.
