BRATISLAVA (AFP) - Fireworks and a new national anthem saw in the new Slovak constitution, but several articles which conflict with the existing Czechoslovak charter were put on hold.
At a signing ceremony at Bratislava Castle, the constitution for the republic of Slovakia - due to begin on 1 January - was signed by the Prime Minister, Vladimir Meciar, and Ivan Gasparovic, the parliamentary speaker.
