BORDEAUX (Reuter) - A lawsuit has been filed against Henri Emmanuelli, the speaker of the National Asssembly, for alleged misuse of public funds in his capacity as a local politician, judicial sources said.

The suit against Mr Emmanuelli, who is also president of the local government of the Landes department, accuses Mr Emmanuelli of involvement in misuse of public funds over plans for a water treatment plant in 1984.
