President Thomas Klestil of Austria awarded the Nazi-hunter Simon Wiesenthal the Austrian Cross of Honour of the Sciences and Arts for his work for tolerance and humanity, AFP reports from Vienna. Mr Klestil hailed Mr Wiesenthal, 84, as 'an irreplaceable adviser' who had struggled for justice and, having lived through atrocities, made it his mission to speak out when the voices of the oppressed were silent.
