Paris (Reuter) - An opinion poll has revealed the depth of French public anger against the Socialist government over the handling of a 10-day lorry drivers' blockade this month.
The approval rating of the Prime Minister, Pierre Beregovoy, fell in a month by six points to 32 per cent while the number of people dissatisfied with his performance leapt by 15 points to 39 per cent, according to the poll for the newspaper Le Journal du Dimanche. It was the first time Mr Beregovoy has had a negative rating since he took office in April.
