STOCKHOLM (Reuter) - Sweden's Finance Minister, Anne Wibble, announced cuts to the welfare system, provoking howls of protest and also criticism that she did not go far enough to curb a runaway budget deficit. Sweden's unemployed will in future receive no payment for the first five days out of work, then lower compensation. People injured at work, students and pensioners will also be worse off under the 1993-94 budget proposal.
