Three people were killed and one wounded when Cuban frontier guards fired on a US-registered motorboat north of the small fishing village of Cojimar, Reuter reports from Havana.
Cuban authorities said the boat, Midnight Express, violated Cuban waters on Thursday night as it was trying to pick up a group of Cubans and take them to the United States. The local news agency AIN said Cuba had sent a note to the US government advising it of the incident. One of the wounded was a US citizen.
