A large explosion has been heard in the Turkish capital of Ankara during an attempted coup by military forces against President Erdogan's regime.
The explosion occurred at the state-run television building, CNN-Turk reports.
In central Istanbul, gunfire has been heard near Taksim square where crowds had started to gather.
